Buyer's Guide: Best Mass Air Flow Sensor Cleaner

The Mass Air Flow Sensor Cleaner

With so many different air conditioners on the market these days, choosing the right one can be difficult. A Mass Air Flow Sensor Cleaner is just what your car needs. It will not only keep your HVAC system running smoothly, but it will also save you money on tune ups and expensive repairs. The following are tips to help you decide which one is right for you:

The first MAF sensor cleaner. This product is safe for use on all types of HVAC systems. Safely guards and cleans MAF sensors without damage. Improved catalytic converter, stabilizes and improves air/fuel mixture.

2 cans of the universal spray bottle. These cleaning agents kill harmful bacteria, dry out and sanitize dry and wet parts. Excellent for humidifiers, dryer vents and heaters. Use each time you change or clean the air filter or clean the hot wires.

The second maf cleaner. Cleaning agents neutralize and eliminate the root cause of the blockage. Great for humidifiers, freezers, dryer vents and heaters. Use on each of the hot wires or wash the filter basket using this cleaning mass air flow sensor cleaner.

Isopropyl alcohol and water. These ingredients are used in every type of electronic cleaners. These cleaning agents neutralize any excess moisture, lubricants, dirt and grease causing the blockage. Use the isopropyl alcohol and water mixture on each of the hot wires or rinse the filter basket with this solution.

Platinum Wire Brush. A fine spray that removes grease and oil buildup without destroying sensitive electronics. Great for humidifiers, freezers, dryer vents and heaters. Spray the maf sensor cleaner onto the top of the vacuum part and then run the brush slowly over the entire filter assembly. To use the Platinum Wire Brush, spray it onto the maf sensor assembly, run the brush over the dirt, dust and grime and wipe away with a dry cloth or sponge.

Cleaning MAF sensor cleaner is easy when you have these tools on hand. If your unit has a hard time remaining functional or experiencing poor acceleration and speed, then it could be that the motors are dirty. This is usually the case if the device has been sitting for a long period of time. In order to clean the motor, you need to remove the two screws that hold the solenoid in place and pull off the spring. This will allow the motor to be easily cleaned using a soapy piece of cloth and some mild detergent.

The Mass Air Flow Sensor Cleaner can also be used on cooling chambers during an engine running delay. The MAF sensor cleaner spray will deodorize the air going into the engine running delay chamber. The spray is a gentle enough abrasive to not destroy sensitive electronics if you accidentally spray it into a sensitive component. Using the mass air flow sensor cleaner will ensure that your vehicle runs smoothly and has less troubles during engine running time.

If you think the MAF sensor in your engine could use a little freshened up, there are plenty of MAF sensor sprays available. Spray the MAF sensor cleaner directly onto the sensor for maximum effectiveness. For vehicles with stainless steel air intakes, you should follow the instructions on the sprays for how to apply them. Simply spray a small amount onto the air intake and then wipe away with a piece of paper towel.

The Mass Air Flow Sensor Cleaner does not just stop at spraying the maf sensor with a jet of cleaning spray. You should also make sure to wash the connectors and wires as recommended in the owner's manual. Wipe away the excess spray with a sponge to prevent rust and corrosion from setting in. If there is a significant amount of rust, then you may want to replace the connector instead of washing them.

When it comes time to clean the MAF sensor, you will have to detach the old hot wire from the positive and negative terminals on the control module. You can pull off the hot wire from the terminal that does not have a screw on it or you can simply unscrew them. If you simply pull them, then you run the risk of shorting the power supply cable. To be on the safe side, then you will want to either purchase a new one or at the very least, keep the existing one around in case there is a need to revert back to it later. If you decide to keep the existing hot wire, then you will want to find a good place to keep it out of the way until you are ready to use it again. If it is attached to the control module, then it is a good idea to make sure that you place it in an isolated location for safety reasons.

Now that you have removed the old sensor and cleaned the new one, it is time to replace the mass air flow sensor cleaning cartridge. You should follow the directions that come with your air filter, which generally consists of filling the cartridge with the proper amount of water and then placing it inside of the air filter housing. Once the filter is filled, simply place it back into the housing and turn the power switch on so that the system is ready to be used. All you have to do now is follow the manufacturer's instructions and you will have your newly cleaned and maintained MAF sensor ready to go. Cleaning sensors is something that many car owners do to maintain the performance and efficiency of their vehicle, and to a lesser extent, their finances.
